Two police cars set on fire in Edinburgh

Recommended Posts

Two marked police cars have been set alight while officers were responding to a call.

The cars had been parked on Niddrie House Park in Edinburgh on Monday night after police were called to the area.

While officers were dealing with the incident, their cars were set on fire at around 8.15pm.

Two men were detained after the fire and have since been released.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Police Scotland can confirm that two marked police vehicles that were responding to a call in Niddrie House Park sustained significant damage after being set alight on Monday evening.

"Two males were detained and have been released pending further enquiries.

"Anyone with information that can assist police with their investigation is asked to come forward immediately."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.

Dont these idiots realise that ultimately, the cars will now have to be replaced by the taxpayer. Then again, there's a good chance they havent paid a pennies tax in their whole life. Cretins.

Just misunderstood then.

I bet he or she will be terrified of the outcome.

It would be just desserts if the police were unable to get to the fire-setters themselves after having need to call us wouldn't it. 'Sorry but we have 2 cars off the road'.

Sorry if this seems petty, but it's 'deserts', as opposed to being about puddings. :)

I'm not sure that "they'll be getting their just Sahara" is as popular a saying...

Isn't deserts used because it's a derivative of deserve, rather than anything to do with puddings and hot and sandy places? It's one of the few occasions when one word is spelled the same as another word, yet pronounced in the same way as a word with a different spelling.

I came across this one a few days ago. Complete and utter disrespect. The "poster" has various other videos which makes it clear he has no respect for police/law
