Specials Postcards

Here's a wonderful set of postcards relating to Specials.  I'm guessing these are from around the time of the Second World War, when many thousands of Special Constables were sworn in to help maintain law and order.  These officers were apparently held in fairly low regard, and postcards like these which poked fun at them would have been much appreciated!

"Please Sir, can you tell me where I can find a real policeman?"	"Now then, what have you got in that bag?"
"By George - a beastly bomb - what!"	"Excuse me Sir, sorry to trouble, but would you mind not hanging about here?"
"I wonder if I can catch him if I run after him!"	"Look out guv'ner! there's a bloke going to sneak the gasworks!"
"Her 'Special' Constable... Her Constable"
