Prince Willam and police escort?

Recommended Posts

Just looking at photos of William driving in a Land Rover with a police escort. Has he has training to do this as I guess they may go over the speed limit at certain times?

In central London?

Anyway, normally you are just told to follow the car in front, my dad's driven being escorted by police before and he had no extra training, just the officer stated "Do as I do".

O for the love of a sudden requirement to pursue a wanted offender...

"Sir, I escorted you 2 days ago, why are you in my house... Is that an Early Learning Centre police officer tabard? What?"

Given Princess Anne was convicted for speeding when driving legally there is nothing special about them being royalty.

The Queen driving however - no licence or VRM required.

Techically she can use herself as proof of identification. Including as a passport!

The police car followed her and flashed its blue lights briefly.

But the princess took this as a signal from police they were escorting her, the court heard.

But shortly after, the police car turned off the bypass.

They must of done a PNC check and where told to back off?

I wouldn't be surprised if he has anti-hijack driving or more since royals often drive themselves.

If you watched the show Inside Claridge's on BBC2, when Price Andrew arrived he was driving a Land Rover on blue lights in convoy, whether he had training to do that is another question, but it wouldn't surprise me.

I should imagine they've all had some sort of advanced driving training to cover some last resort, hollywood-style scenario but don't know for sure.

He's a search and rescue pilot, I'm pretty sure he's capable of 'driving over the speed limit'

Flying a helicopter and driving a car are pretty different though! haha A lot less traffic up there for one...

Parallel parking is easier though.
