  1. Good evening all, Admin, If this is/should be elsewhere then please move it. I have completed an application form for the new recruitment campaign (i am still impressed with how quickly your HR dept work) and I have been told that i will be given an AC date. I was hoping that somebody could help me out by giving me a heads up about what to expect. I have previously done a SEARCH AC at Ryton but I have been told that BTP have taken assessments 'in house'. Is it the same system? What are the maths questions like? I am rubbish with numbers and was lucky that at Ryton we were able to use a calculator, and i still somehow passed it! Also what are BTP like to work for? What are the shift patterns like? I am planning of commuting from Buckinghamshire to London by train so i am hoping shift times line up with first/ last train times. Feel free to PM me with any answers, Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Matthew Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  2. Assessment Creditation

Have you called and spoken to HR and asked them for an update? Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  3. Assessment Creditation

Usually a year but if you speak to HR they may extend if your A/C score is not too far out of date Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  4. You will be given options of what sites you can be transfered to. For example Wylfa officers were offered places in the 2 or 3 closest sites to them. Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  5. BTP CNC MDP HETO to merge! Probably.

With the likes of HETO being involved in the process i am assuming that this will mot ne a fully armed agency. Also not all unarmed officers (like your average btp bobby) would be able, mentally and physically to complete the firearms training package so one would hope they would not be handed their P45s. It would be one big step in the wrong direction if they made every officer on the railways armed. Or would that also spell the end for BTP pcso's? Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  6. It will be interesting to hear if there has been any update. Last i heard from CNPF no decision had been made yet. Could be interesting times ahead but i think they run the risk of an exodus to more mobile roles if they do merge with the likes of btp. Maybe there will be a rule that you can't transfer? It would be easier for the powers that be to keep CNC,MDP seperate to BTP and maybe Ports. No idea why HETO have been involved with this though as they are not a 'Police' service. 7. For the guys hoping for Harwell, don't want to get your hopes up but I am currently based at another site and waiting on a transfer to Harwell ( i have been waiting for the last year ) and tjey are desperate for officers in Harwell so they will get you through and on site as quickly as they can.the last few intakes were just for dounreay and sellafield i believe as they need more officers, but they are now getting other sites through to training such as dungeness and harwell etc. Hope this helps. 8. No marching but they do put on a graduation where your family come and see you in your number 1's and have pictures but nothing on the scale of a met doo. Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  9. Baton Types

I'm pretty sure that if you manage to buy one without a force procurement order number and get it delivered to a police address with no questions asked etc you will get into issues when it comes to training, i can't see the OST/PST instructors giving you a tailored session and if you actually use a non issued piece of kit on a subject you will be on your own in the court. 10. CNC Recruitment

Going from Home Office reactive to CNC........good luck. I bet you never wished for a case handover before. Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  11. If you require glasses or corrective lenses then you will need a letter from your optician stating you have worn contact lenses for at least 3 months with no issues as you can no longer wear glasses to work. Pretty sure you will also need to meet a requirement for eyesight without correction too? Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  12. Custodians/uniform etc.

I know its a bit of a post resurrection but just to clarify for any new/prospective officers you get loaned tunics for graduation and hand them back that very day, you wear your flat cap for this also. as for custodians they now are relics in the lockers of older service officers and adorn the briefing rooms. 13. If you apply for sellafield or dounreay then you will be guaranteed a space as they have a high turnover, a few of my friends went to Torness and Hunterston this year so they did have spaces. You will get offered a site over the phone from HR (or at least i did). I finished training back in the summer are love it so far. Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
  14. Firstly the training is residential and CNC pay for accommodation and meals. You can stay for the whole 16 weeks or you can travel home some or all of the weekends. To be honest only you could answer whether you could cope with that commute, i personally am based 131 miles from home so I have a cheap rental property close to site and I stay the while I work and travel home for rest days. There is a requirement to have a place of residence within a certain distance to your site or within an hours drive. Maybe somebody could clarify that for you.
  15. I had the same thing, I had my uniform fitting then dropped a trouser size in normal trousers (non elasticated waist bands) I just called force stores, explained what and why I wanted to change and they did it. No issues. If you do it before you start you will get them right in the initial issue, instead of getting a load that don't fit, and waiting a few weeks for another load to come through.
