J***abellegate Your thoughts...?

Just got back from Mallorca where I found out that on Facebook someone that I probably know has created a fake account (J*zzabelle C***flaps)> They used this to spread rumours about my friend, and pretended they were me in private conversations, using relatively common knowlegede/rumours (within in my circle of friends) to prove they were 'me'.
The account has since been deleted, and ,as far as I know, no-one believed it was me, when they decided to make up a rumour that was extraordinarily poor and obviously a lie. However, I'd very much like to try and find out who it was and they insulted my friends using me as a cover.
Any ideas on how to go about this? I'm willing to 'interrogate' (friendly chat, with myabe a few lines to catch them out? any thoughts?) the ones I think guilty.
It's a bit of a joke, yes, but at the same time...
Any thoughts, ideas or advice I can use to track down this criminal mastermind?
Thanks,
Shikari

Anyway, I have a list of suspects, two very strong ones but no motive. I think it wasn't just a joke. It may have started that wasy but it became malicious.
Thanks,

Just on the subject of facebook and cyberbulling I feel that I need to point out that you don't need facebook, it's just an online portal for people, I logon to my account there about once a week.
True friends will stick by you no matter what has been put online by some moron, true friends will met up and go out for a drink without needing to be arranged by a damn online tool.
But then I'm getting old these days and I remember the days before the internet....

I guess you have to wonder why your friend accepted a friend request from someone claiming to be J*zzabelle C***flaps!! Hardly the most common of names!!

Have you seen the amount of friends some people have? It runs into the thousands and maybe I'm being a bit jaded but I really doubt that people have that many real friends.

Actually speak to the friends you feel have been affected by it and tell them it was a load of rubbish. The name should have been a dead giveaway, anyway.
I am reminded of this clip from Family Guy: http://www.youtube.c...h?v=VmrgXdjFaoQ
I don't wish to piddle over your problem, as I am sure it has affected you, else you wouldn't be posting here - however i'm trying to get you to see it from a different perspective
