In my local unit, there was tones of people applying to become police cadets. I only live in a small market town and surprised so many people were applying. So, what I mean is, why did you join cadets? Was it:

A) Interested in the police and the work they do
B) Considering the police as a career
C)Something to do
D) Other

I am guessing a lot of people join the service because they are considering the police as a career because most people in our unit go on further in the police.

Just thought it might be interesting to see...

:D Scotty2hotty95 ;)

I think for me it was because I have always wanted to be a Police Officer so it linked it rather well.

Well it is C) for me.
I became bored and disillusioned with being a Scout leader.

Tut Tut scotty,
I made a exact similar post bout a year or 2 years ago. :D search button?

As I said previously in the post yonks ago, I want a career in the police and cadets was a ideal place for me to start off, amonst moving onto other things but keeping cadets running as long as possible.
Due to chance hopefully soon

Sorry I didn't look to be honest, sorry. I just thought I would join in, I joined because of reason (A) and (B).

I joined to make a difference to the community, and get a good understanding of the role of the police service

And i fulfilled that in my 2 and a half years,

and gained alot more skills as well, effective communication, teamworking, problem solving etc

Hi, Thank you for the welcomes :D

I'm in the Bourne branch. I started cadets in June last year. The instructors are thinking of making me a right marker, hopefully. Fingers crossed

I joined to get of the streets, before cadets i was getting into too much trouble with the police and im not talking about doing a bit of graffiti im talking stuff you can go prison for, anyway my views of the police were not nice however i was on probation and my mentor forced me to go. since then i love going and its changed my life.

I am amazed your force let you join. My force won't even consider people with minor offences.
