Hi all,

Okay i got a small dent in a stainless steal fridge door and i wondered if someone knew how to get it out and if you ca get it out.

The dent is not that big and someone else on the internet suggested i put dry ice on it and the steals will pull out. I don't want to do this because it might make it worse or is this guy talking sense. I need to get it out because my dad will go mad.

Thanks everyone for the advice in advance.

What a great analogy. Do you have a dungeon downstairs where you keep ne'er do-wellers and a big nasty troll guarding them who's actually quit a nice guy?

If you know someone who does body and fender work on cars, ask if he has a suction dent puller. That might do the job.

This reminds me of the Yellow Pages advert actually... 'hello? French polishers?'...

Personally I wouldn't even try to fix it: you might end up making an even worse mess than before. I'd suggest that if it's stainless steel it's going to be a right beggar to get out with simple tools and inexperience anyway.

I know how you feel though, Sixteen. Apologise up front as to how it happened (incidentally, how did it happen?) and offer to pay for a repair or new door, which should be obtainable. That won't be cheap though.

You could purchase a suction dent puller from Halfords £12 ish...depends if the dent is big enough to merit it!

*Disclaimer* other car parts stockists do exist and Halfords was used for illustrative purposes only!

Just tell him, sure he might be mad to begin with but he'd appreciate the honesty rather than you trying to hide it? It's very unlikely you'd be able to perfectly fix it so he never found out.

To be honest with you, dry ice is not something you want to be messing around with - screw it up and you'll give yourself one hell of a burn. I don't know if it'd even have the desired effect on the dent, either... I'd go along with the other posters and advise you to cough it to your parents - they might well be miffed, but it is only a fridge after all!

Can you not cover it with a magnet or something?

I remember pulling the door off my fridge once when I was in a temper and I couldn't get it back on ..

Haha :p

I had to stay there holding the door covering the fridge before my dad come home and fixed it .. which he managed to.

I've also got a thing for pulling off the sliding doors on the shower cubicle .. it's happened to me about 2/3 times now :D

But a little dent just put a few magnets or something over it .. my fridge door is covered in magnets.

I don't mean to be rude, but, if your parents haven't noticed yet - Why not just tell them? Only a matter of time surely...

I haven't got a hamster or cat. lol I have put a magnet on the fridge but my mum doesn't like magnets on the door and i know she will take it off at some point and notice the dent. We only got it 2 weeks ago and it cost £950 so my dad will go mad if he notices it.
