Don't see why not,you are still a citizen. As long as you don't abuse it by posting Operational info.

Yes you can but don't post anything Police related or any pictures or anything at all that could identify you as a police officer.

PM me if you want to discuss this further, I'm a serving special at Blackpool.

Yes, but don't start posting pictures of RTC's and comments slagging the job off.

Not that that's ever happened... :D

Can I say theres no harm having a facebook account as long as it has the privacy settings right up and no information can be found. e.g. your own contact details etc This is my view.

you can still have a facebook account and some of the people i know put that they are PCSOs/constables in the work section, i aslo know one guy who as his profile pic is him in full police uniform it has been this for a while and he hasn't got into trouble

but PSD advise against it not to post anything to identify yourself as a police officer of any force as your comments etc could be taken the worng way by people etc

its all a very grey area

my advice would be just dont do it, no pic,no info,no signs and you should be ok

Facebook accounts are ok, but to be completely on the safe side i'd make no reference to the job.

PSD will view your account regularly and i know officers that have come unstuck and ended up explaining themselves to them.

I would keep any and all references to the Police off of your page and also change your privacy settings so only people on your friends list can view your profile
