Monotone...there are certain things I struggle with too.... phrases that usually start with "Yeah, but what if....." and other ones that include "Yeah but I was always taught......" or "We always used to do it like this...."

I suggest go to swimming pool and hold your breath until you pass out, rinse and repeat.....that will improve your lungs no doubt....

Disclaimer: do not try this at home......it is a joke kids. stay safe.

Next step is to get passed over to the Force Medical Officer who will make a call based on my latest test (which was so close and much much better than the last one). If not, then it will probably be a retest in a couple of weeks.

My doc moved me onto a different reliever inhaler that has done me the world of good, and all being well after another two weeks, I should be at full strength again.

Bit annoying when I train 3x a week, run marathons and referee international football, but cant blow hard enough for the first second of the test!

I find it hard to believed that someone that is medically trained to the standard of an FMO would ever fail you if you can accomplish that lot!

Sure you'll be fine!

Do you have any proof of the marathons, never know take it with you just to push the issue and prove you are fit.

Yea that's a good shout actually, I can imagine people would attempt to blag their way through. Some sort of evidence should do your case wonders! Again, good luck

Well, we'll see what they say, if it's a no, I can't have any complaints, the limits are there for a reason. I'll keep training and everything until I get there, won't give up on it.

As far as evidence of the marathons goes- I have many medals, but don't really want to go down the route of trying to pursuade them, I'd rather it's just done 'normally' if that makes sense?

Your a better person than me, I'd push my case as hard as I could. Never lie, but the way I see is it. Letting the doctor make a more informed decision based on all the facts :(

Hey got an email from Sally today saying I was fit to carry on to the next stage which is training, I'm I right to assume this means that I've passed my drugs test and my vetting has all gone ok?

I would think so! You talk as if you had something to hide in the drugs test :)

Looks like we'll be on the same course then! What district you applying for?

Well I got this email today.... "Further to your recent medical assessment, I am pleased to inform you that you are now fit to proceed to the next part of the recruitment process which is your training and attestation.  I will contact you again, as soon as possible, with the details of the next available course.

Regards
Sally". So does this mean that my drugs test was negative and my vetting has cleared?

Sorry for re posting, I'm on my phone and doesn't show. Haha no nothing to hide just the email wasn't very clear! In bath what about you?

Bristol myself, I think that does mean all is cleared, would had definitely thought the drugs at least.
I had the same ( or extremely similar ) email enclosing the dates, and to await Michels(Bristol's sally) contact to book on.

I think it's time for you to start smiling and rake the drinks in :)
