I was wondering if anyone knew whether Fife offered travel expenses for Specials. I know we can qualify for a bounty but other forces also offer travel expenses.
Dont think they do mate

Have or are you goign to be applying for fife mate ? I live in fife (northeast) and was thinking about it but my area is rather scarce and spread out between little towns, and thought if rather apply for the city! (tayside)
I'm already a special in Fife. I'm assuming by the scarceness that you're up in the north east ( Tayport, newport etc) If so I'd highly recommend joining Fife and working from Cupar station. It's a lot smaller than Dundee but chances are you'll get involved in more. They're usually very short staffed and so you'll be thrown in at the deep end dealing with all sorts of calls. Some of my friends in big cities say that they miss out on a lot because they're always policing nightclubs etc. It depends what you're looking for. I know a few folk who travel from Dundee to work in Fife for the variety.

Cheers for the reply mate, Yeah im currently living in the newport area.. And i know that at the weekends these little towns turn into nightmares with the restricted amount of officers operating from St andrews, and so the Kids go wild, *alot* of drugs in the area also...
Im really thinking about what you have said now! Ive been in the "deep end" in cupar before, was randomly attacked for no reason at a bus stop, Boy got 6 months
again cheers!

Either up the coast (Tayport) or down (Anstruther) seem to have more stuff going on with their smaller number of officers. Tayport especially with the bridge usually seem to get a suspect section 5 called in.
There are some expenses paid, petrol money I believe, but it isn't something they really tell you about. Get in touch with the specials co-ordinator at HQ and she'll have all the info.
