To give you some idea of the training involved, here is an approximate schedule for Special intakes from start of 2012. Note that training occurs usually on Wednesday evenings for the theoretical, and Satudays for the practical sessions in general.
In reality, this may take longer (say 30 weeks elapsed) as courses are not held over some weeks, such as Christmas, Easter and periods of holiday absence.

Failure to make any of the sessions will mean you'll have to do them at a later time, and may risk that you have to fall back to the next intake, so it's worthwhile trying all you can to do to attend, given the obvious investment being made in new recruits by the force!
