Hello,

I've applied for this Febuarys intake and have a few questions, was wondering if you could help me out here;

The other thread said that there were ten places available, and i was wondering around how many people normally apply? Will there be much competition?

Also, if successful (fingers crossed), i would eventually like to join the regulars, is there a normal set of time that people spend in the specials before applying?

Thankyou

Frazer

Hi there,

Im not sure as to how many normally apply for Special Constable within CSP. You might find this intake coming up could have more attempting to join or it may have less than normal.

As for a time period, i know many people tend to wait a year or 2, but i feel you should go for it when you feel ready and feel capable of passing all the stages.

All i can say is good luck!

Thankyou for the reply, sure for the most part i'm really just anxious about the whole process at the moment, as i'm sure you can understand.

Just counting on understanding the system as best i can for the selection process, so i'm not caught off guard by anything in an interview etc.

Cheers

I would agree with that advice. It's the path i'm taking..

As for the interview; do some research into the force, the role of a police officer (so that you're aware of what you may encounter during duties as a Special) and some preparation on answering questions on the core competances. I have come across threads on these types of questions before..
have the evidence in mind to back up your answers and you shouldn't have to worry about being caught off guard.

I certainly found that helped me :prone:

Just a few more questions rather than starting a new thread:

I am thinking of applying for a Police Staff job. When I apply to the regulars, does this application get put on the "previous applications" section? Also, will this count as a application attempt leaving me only one other (I've already failed once) attempt at getting in to the regulars?

Thanks in advance

Applications for a Police Staff job does not have any impact on the 'Previous applications' section on a Police Officer application and does not need to be included.
