A challenge coin is a small coin or medallion bearing an organization's insignia or emblem. It has its background in the military, and traditionally the coin would have been carried by the organization's members (for example, a regiment or battalion). Their purpose is to prove membership when "challenged" and to enhance morale. Recently, other clubs and organisations have started making and sharing challenge coins, they're actually becoming very collectible... and now you can have your very own PoliceSpecials.com challenge coin! They're produced in hard coloured enamel with an etched design emphasising the bright, clear colours. They look and feel smashing!
