I don't know if other forces use this, but we have a white material slip with velcro fastening pouches. You take your armour plates out of your uniform stabby and put them into the covert one.
Trouble is, that even with Chief Inspector's authority our Stores will not part with them for specials. Does anyone know where you can buy them or does anyone have one for sale? I know Niton999 do them, but they charge about £60, which doesn't seem worth it to me.

Surely if you are going on an op where they decide you need a covert vest, then they'll issue them, other wise they won't.

If you have the Chief's authority then I'd say that's enough - get an email sent on your behalf?

Well, I am hardly going to state on here why I want a covert vest. And no, stores are very odd and even with a Chief Super's authority in writing, will often not issue kit. "If we were called ISSUES.... but we're not.... we're STORES..."

Not quite what I was getting at.If you have an operational NEED for one, and the CC gives authority too, stores aren't in a position to refuse.
Suggest you take it up with someone above the stores man.

Well I am in the same boat now and I am finding myself needing one. Any suggestions where I can get a cheap one from?

I suppose if you only the need the cover, then try eBay

I'd look at 'airsoft' sites, you can probably get one cheap with dummy plates and swap them out with the ones from your overt vest.

I have got an old MET vest covert cover if you want for nothing just the cost of postage. Its white I think its a size medium approx. If I find it I will post size.
