Just to say that we are very disappointed to be loosing Mr Neil Rhodes our current ACC Territorial Policing to become the DCC for Lincolnshire. Mr Rhodes has been responsible for the Special Constabulary since April 2008 and has made a big difference to how we operate and the support at Chief Officer level. He is well aware of the National Strategy and has a very positive view of the Special Constabulary.

Your gain is our loss.

Regards

Martin

Hi Martin, thank you for the note.

It's good to hear that he's pro-Special and made a difference to Cumbria, hopefully we will see some benefit from his joining us too.

After all he did 'cut his teeth' in Lincs. I do remember PC Rhodes in his younger days!

He's not a very talkative chap, I crossed his path the other day and said good morning, he just looked at me and ignored me. Seen him do this to a few others.

Perhaps with me being a civvy I dont warrant a good morning back!!! Maybe if i was in uniform I may get a nod!!!

Reminds me of a CC from about 10 years ago who never said a word to me and my colleagues in 4 years!!

That's a pity if it's true, saying good morning to someone doesn't take a lot of energy. I've seen the video of him on the Lincs Police site and he appears a pleasant chap.

I do like it when senior officers engage with us, our divisional commander has been out with us on a night shift several times, and he is a pretty friendly chap. He appears to be willing to come and join in.

From my experience of him when he was up here, he was a very talkative sort of boss and often stopped to talk about things. I had a good twenty minute conversation about my application on an event he came to.

Top fella, must have been busy!

I've spoken to him whilst I was walking around HQ and had a little chat with him (dressed in civ's, not uniform). He appeared interested in my opinions and had time to listen to me. I certainly got on ok with him.

I agree with rescueme - he must have been busy.

Im sure there were many reasons why he might not say good morning, but lets face it, saying they must have been busy is hardly an excuse. Im often very busy but if someone spoke to me i would take that split second to talk back.

Anyway im not gonna lose any sleep over it!!! :prone:
