I fail to see why after 2 years you cannot transfer to a home office force if you so wished, after all you are a constable still no?
Only a few forces will accept you, I think this is due to a training thing and experiance thing. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Also Welsh Man would this be the CNC? http://www.youtube.c...Q...=PL&index=5

Just transfer into who ever will take you then, whoever that may be, you can always transfer around from there
What is a typical shift like then for a CNC officer?
Be honest though, do tell if its boring?

some are cnc some are home office. it comes down to the fact that the cnc did not sign up to the police act, and probably due to training and experience is not that (or different) to the home office

those duties above are for harwell, dounraey and sellafield (operational units). at support units (dungeness, sizewell, oldbury, hinkley point, hartlepool, heysham, hunterston, and so forth) they have their own security that do the searches, access control, building and perimeter checks, etc. and the cnc do the external patrols (no dogs at support units)

The starting salary for new recruit Police Officers is currently £21,881 per year. This will increase after successful completion of the training course to £24,428. The annual salary increases thereafter. If you’re posted to Harwell, Dungeness, or Culham HQ, you will also be entitled to receive a south-east allowance to supplement your salary.
To Welsh Man In England, I see the pictures on the new recruitment website show a lot of police officers wearing the baseball caps. Do CNC not issue flat caps anymore?
