Dunno if there is anything wrong with my cat but he usually eats more in a day than everyone else in the house does in a week! But he was ok this morning and then tonight he was no where to be seen until it started raining anyway he came in I put his food down he turned his nose up at that and then a bit later he was sick. Also he is not a fussy as he usually is he is just sat on his own. But I have noticed he must of got a bird earlier? Do anyone else think he is ill or do you just think its because he has eaten a wood pidgeon at some point in the day??

could it be a hairball?

i remember my cat used to eat alot, my cat lived for 16 years, it passed away a couple years ago...what used to happen was that when you feed dry biscuit cat food to it, the cat food expands and makes it unwell...my cat loved them biscuit cat foods, then we had to control the amount it ate...could it be that? just keep an eye on it and see what happens, if anything take it for a check up :prone:

by the way how do you know if it had a bird?

was it sick or a hairball?

if it was sick, look for grass - they eat grass when they have an upset tummy.

ferdi is normally properly sick after eating other animlas - he is used to being pandered to and eating cat food not dead animal - he never learns tho!

if he has eaten nothing at all in 48 hrs, then go to vet!

He's probably just got an upset tummy. Did you notice what was in his sick? Was it food or a liquid?
Cats, like most animals, will feel a bit sorry for themselves when they feel poorly which is why he's not being fussy. Some will crave attention but most will sit and sulk.
Keep an eye on him. If he manages to eat and doesn't chuck it up, he's fine. If either he doesn't eat or he eats and chucks up again, I'd be taking him to the vet to get him checked out, he might need antibiotics for his tumtum.

Cats can throw up for all kinds of reasons , If he eats alot of cat food , be it dried food or wet or mix of both , and he's prone to eating vermin and birds , make sure you worm him 0nce every 3 months with either drontel or panacur , and alternate it each time you worm him to avoid a worm resistance to the wormers it can happen.

Again as the others have suggested , hairball , in his vomit check what was in it that includes worms cos if cats or dogs have a heavy worm burden they can sometimes vomit them up tape worms are most common in cats so your looking for something that resembles a pice of white rice thats flattish and wriggly , otherwise its common for round worms these resemble a pencil of white they tend to curl up hence round worm (at equine college we had to do a whole load of stuff on worms , not my favourite subject but we had to recognise veterinary vials wqith different dead worms in them yuk yuk yuk,) also check for grass etc. if he has devoured a wood pigion thats a pretty hefty bird for a domestic cat to kill and eat , he could have something stuck in his gut. Give it 24 hours and if poss keep him indoors , monitor his water intake as you dont want him getting dehydrated , I personnally would refrain from feeding him for 24 hours , if he perks up and looks interested in food after that then I would say he's pretty much ok. if he's not and still off colour I'd be off down to the vet. Keep us all posted and hope your moggie gets well soon.

It was proper sick no grass or furball thats why I was worried. I knew he ate a wood pidgeon the other day cause he decided to eat it in the garden infront of me (not very nice). Well he was very quiet the whole of friday night, But saturday morning was back to his normal self :prone: !! Was very worrying as he never misses out on any food and that!
Thankyou for all your advice.
