Daz - Sounds good, I highly recommend www.britmilfit.com in the Duthie Park thats what Ive joined in a bid to improve my fitness levels. Its so much better than the gym!

Kev - You got a date for fitness yet? Im still waiting.... have had a request for details of my current employer tho as they want a character reference.

Karen

Hi Karen,

I have just had a look at the Brit Military Fitness site, looks great but they don't run anything near me and I can't justify a 120 mile round trip to Aberdeen on a regular basis. I have registered an interest with them so it looks like I am stuck with the gym at the moment.
I have been going to the gym over the last 4 weeks and i am making big improvements with my fitness, my weight is coming off slowly so I just need to keep it up. I have just dropped my form off with my GP and I have my eye test on Tuesday so I can get all that paperwork off to them. They have been ringing me up to see if I am still interested.

How is your application going...must be nearly there are you?

Yeh its a really good laugh, sorry didn't realise you didn't live in Aberdeen! Keep going with the gym tho especially if your starting to see results!

Yep at the end of the long road of application process, got fitness test and interview on 24th November so fingers crossed!

Hello,

Unfortunetly I Was not successful, I am actually struggling to see why as I felt the interview went well, the fitness test went well and all my paperwork was correct. Unfortunetly I'd got my hopes up quite a bit for this so to not get it has come as a bit of a blow..especially after going through all the processes.

It would be helpful if they indicated on the letter what part I needed to improve on but I got the standard "Thanks but No Thanks". Considering writing to them to see if they can be a bit more specific, not sure if they can be though.

Good Luck Karen and everyone else

Best Wishes

Congratulations Karen on getting in. I have my medical on 11 December so hoping everything will be OK there. I may be in touch for some pointers for the fitness / interview evening.

Take Care

Marti,
Sorry you weren't successful, totally understand where your coming from in that its such a long road to get to that final night, feel like you've been applying for forever. I think if you were to reapply you would just get another stab at the final selection evening so wouldn't be as long a process - you might need to check if this is the case though.

I would definately phone/write for feedback as I got feedback on how my interview went, the women had the notes in front of her so would say its def worth a try.

Hey,

Thanks, really glad it went ok, good end to what feels like quite a long application process. :prone:

Yeh the interview itself was really good, was fairly relaxed and not too nervewracking, considering it was a panel of 3!

You got a date for you selection evening yet Kev?

hey Kev,

Aww thats good not long to wait then, you would prob be in the same training as me if you got in as I'm not starting training till Feb time. You been doing much preparation? Well done on practicising the bleep test good to have an idea of what to expect.

Yeh fitness wasn't too bad, just try your best honestly thats all you can do.

Hi,

I have just found out that I passed my medical which I went for last Thursday. I have also been invited to attend the selection/fitness evening on 7th Jan, I am trying to convince my boss that it would be a good idea for him to give me time off to attend...otherwise I will miss the Feb intake.

So I may see you there Kev! and all being well everything will go ok and I will make the Feb intake. Fingers crossed.

My boss has come through and given me time off to attend the selection evening on 7th January.

I'm really looking forward to getting this last hurdle out of the way. Maybe see you there Kev?

Hey guys,

Hope everyone had a good xmas and NY! Just to say Daz/Kev (and anyone else going to selection evening in few days) good luck!! You all ready for it?? Oh and Kev think it was around 15 people that were on my selection evening so sure youd be able to work out who each other is.

I got my start date through the other day for training, not sure if you were successful whether you might also be starting in Feb.

How do you think you done in the interview? I'm not sure on how I done as there were a couple of questions I didn't answer that well, especially the one regarding what I knew about Grampian police. I didn't say as much as I should have. :D

But fingers crossed!
