EDIT: I'd probably try n loose them in some twisty streets, and if that fails then phone it in.

I agree with that method at thats what I currently do. Luckily I know the area inside out and back to front. Another option I just drive to the nick which is quite close.

As for MPG, depends anywhere from 15mpg to 28mpg.

Drove around Australia in an old Nissan G60 4WD. Monster 5 litre straight six that could get you out of a lot of situations (but also get you into a few) and speeding was never really an issue with a top speed of around 100kph. Ripped the supplied seats out and replaced them with comfy ones from a Rover SD1 (is that tight?). Got a great picture of us racing to release a jammed rear drum brake with a HUGE storm approaching.

Favourite car and the last one I had was a Pugeot 504 with the original twin solex carburettors. Konked out in the middle of nowhere once (Australia scale nowhere)and worked out the first stage carburettor had stuffed it's seal....ended up wiring the two together and boy did it take off when they both started working. Those cars go and go but when they stop it's generally for a long time.

Don't have a car in the UK...too many here already and don't really need one.

If i was being chased / followed by a a couple of people in a car, the i'd think about it....

Duress n all that...

I doubt that the defence of being under duress would stand up in court if you were just being followed. Specific and immediate danger such as them pulling up behind you at the lights and two masked men climb out brandishing baseball bats is a more likely candidate!

You're probably right.

If the Police try n stop me, I'd just speed off the loose them :)
Especially if it's just a Panda Car.

I'll then quickly speed home. Abandom my car near my home.
Go home and into bed. or whatever.

Then when the Police come knocking I'll deny all knowledge, and say I didn't realise it was stolen.
They must have "Hooked" my keys through the letter box.

Just had to put 2 new front tyres on me car the other day.

Because of the way I drive probably.

Cost £201.

Got some dunlops put on.
I wanted some "Goodyear Eagle F1 gsd3's"

But they didn't have any in stock.

Fault on my part as well.
had to go to kwik fit, because no where else was open in the time I had free. :)

These are the ones I wanted.

I had Toyo Proxies TR-1s on my Fabia RS... they were absolutely fantastic! Highly recommended.

I drive:

2003 Sunlight Silver Mazda MX-5 1.8i Sport
6 Speed Box
143bhp
119mph top speed
0-60 7.9sec

Its got all the toys you can get on them, which isn't much actually, but its got heated leather seats, 6 disc changer, aircon, leccy windows/mirrors

And a roof that goes down and make me look like a git :)

It is going to get, new alloys, new twin exit exhaust, lowering kit, new clutch, oh and some rear brake pads. And when all thats done, a supercharger.

I also drive:

2007 Peugeot Partner 1.6HDi LX
80bhp (i think)

LX means its got an electric mirror (just one), tape player

Its a company van and its in white, so expect me driving in a sensible manner near you

Dare I say what I drive? I get told I'm for too young to own one...

A 1998 Rover 400

Its a very good car - the second one hasn't been quite as reliable as the first one I had (1992 Rover 200) - for its age and engine size (1600cc) its pretty quick (0-60 in 10 secs exactly apparently) but its not that good on the fuel, does about 37mpg combined and about 23 town driving!...it used to belong to my parents but they bought a Ford Focus 1.8 TDCi and it does nearly 60mpg!

next car - possibly a Rover 75, maybe a Vauxhall Astra...haven't got any £ for one at the moment though!

I took Granny for a 50 mile run through the Southdowns today. There is something to be said for six-cylinder comfort, even if it does only return around 21mpg. But hey-ho, the weather was grand and Mother Nature at her finest.

Ford Granada Mk1 Ghia 1977

I have got 2 at the moment -

Daily Driver -

2007 Saab 93 2.0T AERO -

Posted Image

And the weekend toy -

MY00 Subaru Impreza Turbo 2000 (Prodrive)

What hasn't this car had done is probably easier to list as not a lot  current spec is about 315BHP and now its not the daily driver the bigger turbo can go back on, so that should see it back around the 350 mark...

Posted Image

The chances of seeing the above car on the road are very slim these days though, as i dont do more than about 1500 miles a year in it...

Surley won't be worth the insurance, and servicing costs?
EDIT: Driving only 1,500 miles a year

Damn Insurance companies.
I don't know how they sleep at night

Surley it's gender discrimination, or sexism, in the way they give women lower insurance premiums.
When clearly women are the worst drivers.

Forget any discrimination - as long as their isn't an intelligence test required for a driving licence (disregard the facile DSA theory test) idiots will be 'driving' and crashing cars.

I think you're right.

I am a High insurance risk apparently.

I'm 20. Been driving 2.5years, with 2.5 years no claims bonus.

Does anyone know at what point you become a "normal" driver.
I'm hoping when i hit 3 years no claims, my premium will drop substantially.

I aruge that I am a safer driver, then any OAP.
Not to mention my dad, who drives ridiculously close to cars, and he doesn't even realise it.
Not to mention Taxi drivers, who i could rant on about for days.
Not to mention all the idiots I see driving about every single day.

But unfortunately, we all get tared with the same brush.
There are always going to be younglings who have just passed their test, and go about showing off their cars.
Inevitabley crash, and put my premiums up.

Suppose it's the only good thing about getting older, lower insurance.

I'm 23 with 4 years no claims. Right now I have a 51 plate impreza 1.6 which to insure fully comp costs me just over £500. To change to the impreza turbo I may buy, its only an extra £100 a year. Your premiums will drop over the next few years for sure, as long as you keep your licence clean of course

What kind of car do you have? Sounds like you are getting ripped off! I had a 1.2 punto insured with endsleigh on tpft cover. I got my subaru and changed to admiral, it worked out cheaper to insure that fully comp than the punto tpft!
