Hi peeps, just to say thanks for everyones advice and comments on what to expect from the medical, the nurse was a star really funny and made the hour go quick yesterday. After losing the hair on my legs for children in need (waxed ouch :D !!) was a little concerned when she said the sample was gonna be from my pits (im bald) :prone: luckily i saw the scissors in her hand lol, medically clear pending drugs results and doctors notes was the outcome so really chuffed :D just a little wait now to confirm the medical results and invite to start training. thanks again peeps and hope to speak/see some of you soon.

I'm in County Division but County Division is huge now that Eastern and Western have been merged. I'm over in Eastern Section, so a different section of the division, but you have some nice officers where you want to go and should enjoy life there.

not 100% sure. Got told on the day that mine was ok, just had to wait for drugs test, but you dont ge tthe results of that untill after you start training. Main thing is dont panic, should be fine!

I got my clearance less than 24 hours before I did my personal safety training (you have to be classed medically fit before you can continue) - that was a nerve-wracking time, I can tell you... :prone:

I wouldn't worry for the time being anyway!

Same mate, Mines about 2 1/2 weeks too, I spoke to Voulnteers rec at HQ and they said that it takes a while, Med centre told me that all is well when i was there, just waiting for the drugs test.
Bit of a pain really taking so long, But Patience is a virtue and good things come to those who wait anyway enough jibba jabba from my part!

Have a good x-mas to all

Regards

JP :prone:

Hi everybody and a happy new year to you all, i contacted recruitment just before chrimbo as i was getting concerned that i hadnt heard anything, apparently they have been having trouble getting the results back from everybodys hair samples, the next day i received a letter inviting me to start training pending these results in the letter should of been 2 books (no books? so i rang again) hopefully the books are being sent to me on the 5th as they are important information to take in before starting training. I would not worry to much as they did state it was most applicants hair samples they were waiting on, hope this helps and that you all have a wonderful new year see some of you soon.

Enjoy your training, on our intake, some people wern't fully cleared until week 3 of training, so don't worry too much, it's not that unusual. You'll find things a little uneasy for the first 20 mins of training, but by the start of day 2, you'll feel like you've known the others on your course for a lifetime. Training is quite intense, but you'll love it. Enjoy it, enjoy making new friends, and don't be affraid to ask questions.
I'm guessing you'll be attested in early March. What station you planning on going to?

That's certainly the plan as far as response officers are concerned, but depending on which SNT you're assigned to you might still be based at Gravel when the big reshuffle is finished...

Plans were also afoot to make Gravel a RPU base though there is strong opposition due to it not being on an arterial route.

Hoping someone is able to help me, I've got my medical on Friday, however I haven't been told where to go, I got a letter that said 'map enclosed', however, it wasn't, when I last to recruitment, I asked them if they could email me the map, but I've not yet got it.

After a quick look on Google, is this the place:

Ansbury House, 2, Pendruffle Lane, Poundbury, Dorchester, Dorset DT1 3WJ

If it is, is there free parking near by?

Thanks :D

Yep, that's the place... I parked near the front of the estate where Occy Health is but they've built more houses there since I was there - try parking in Haylands Close or Netherton Street, or if all else fails, the large residents carpark just off Victor Jackson Avenue. Occy Health is quite an innocuous looking place - I walked straight past initially - but I'm sure you'll find it easily enough.

Here's the Google Maps link, the pointer is pretty much where you need to be: Clicky.

You should be able to park near enough in front of it. Been there a few times and have always parked no more than 20 metres from the front door.
