[Andy-Burstwick]

Hello and welcome to my diary. My name is Andy and I live in Burstwick, East Riding of Yorkshire. I've lived here for seven years and enjoying the life away from the city.

I've recently applied and successfully passed the paper sift side of things in relation to the Special Constabulary role. At present, like many, I am waiting to attend a local police station and work on the written test and interview.

So far my journey is short but remains exciting and eventfull. Hopefully this little part of the internet will be a small area where I can update and tell people about how I feel and how I progress.

Just a small diary update here. I went to town on friday to find a stationary police unit just outside of my bank trying to recruit specials (So if you're from Hull and spotted the trailer, you will also know what bank I use ).

As I am in the stage of applying to be a SC I thought I would ask what the situation is when it comes to recruitment and just for general advice.

The advice was excellent. Nothing better than to chat with a current serving SC.

The gentleman kindly offered advice on the interview stage and what you can say to impress. Or rather, what targets they expect you to hit at the interview.

I was happly informed that the recruitment for the position of SC is ongoing unlike regular police officers.

My journey continues, as does the wait for a call/letter for the next stage.

A small update here. It appears my division ( C ) has had a change of staff which has currently delayed any interviews and tests.

I just got of the phone from Courtland Road, Hull

Once the new member of staff has settled in, the interviews and tests should resume.

From a small update to a larger one. Today, infact just now, I have had the call that asks me to attand a written test/interview. In Beverley.

Next wednesday the 27th.

Now it's trying to plan my journey as I don't hold a full driving licence yet.

My status: Been invited to attend the written test and the interview stage on the 27th of Sept.
