I'm attempting to get the issue (( no pun intended )) of radios sorted out in my Division as it is far from ideal.
Thanks in advance

Sorry if it's been asked before but I need a quick show of (( Specials )) hands as to who has a personal issue radio. And I mean one that is assigned to your collar number.

Got issued mine on Friday and I've been given the new Motorola MTH800 (colour with GPS). None of the other bobbies at my station even have this one yet.

Good luck with that! I haven't. However I know Ken has now managed to get his mitts on some Special's only radios with a secure cabinet at Lancs for us now, so it's a step in the right direction

If its like my new mobile phone with colour screen and GPS the battery will last half a day! Why dont they keep these devices simple and reliable?

Hello,
I do have a personal issued colour radio, which i take home (no locker yet). The TETRA number doesn't include my collar number tho, but if you saved the number which came up on screen, i could always be contacted via TETRA. i hope that makes sense.

Edit - I do believe they can be programmed to your collar no#, but it can take a number of weeks to do so.

Further to this. Does it not bother you guys that patrol solo ? If you needed assistance and pressed your red button on a pool radio, the Control room do NOT know who you are and further more that you are an SC.
Also using the short cut commands ie Request To Speak button, this is no good with a pool radio.
I think the least we deserve is a properly issued radio.
Ahhh, feel better now I've got that off my chest![]()

What??
If you're booked on CRS properly, comms can see that its you asking for a request to speak, same with an emerg button press. Having a radio attached to collar number serves no real purpose apart from private tetra for colleagues.

Whenever I try to log into my radio though it delivers the message and then just says
"Invalid login..."
