Been speaking to Elizabeth Kelly today who deals with specials recruitment/other organising type stuff at HQ.. Apparently letters have been sent out to us all to let us know that training next Saturday (17th Feb) has been cancelled and won't be replaced by another day.
Just thought I'd give everybody a heads up 'cos I've not received the letter yet and wanted to make sure nobody turned up next week and sat around wondering why nobody is there
I'll post confirmation if/when I get the letter but for now I think it's safe to assume we only have next Sunday to go before we hit the streets
i take it that Sunday (airways) is still on.
If i dont get the letter tomorrow i shall make a call to see whats happening.

Yep - I asked and she said the Sunday was still on, but the Saturday was being cancelled and wouldn't be moved to another day. Apparently she asked the admin blokey/girly to send the letters off on Friday but he/she may not have gotten around to it straight away.. I think we should get them by tomorrow, though.i take it that Sunday (airways) is still on.

That is very strange...does anyone know what we will be missing out on?
I spoke to a guy on the intake before us and he said core day 3 was when we did PDP's, guess we might just run through it on sunday...can't take that long...

Yeah, I heard there was another group starting the same weekend we finish - will no doubt see you all roaming around HQ at the weekendLooks like there will be 2 intakes there on 17th then. The intake I'm with starts on Sat 17th Feb (first aid) and Sun 18th (personal safety).
Look forward to meeting you all

Ignore post - false alarm! Training is going ahead.
On a slightly related note to the original topic - anyone from West Division going to HQ on Thursday night for IT training?
After posting this I just realised there's only 2 others on here from West Div, so I guess that question is aimed at Dave and at06

You know someone said to me yesterday that I was down for an IT course at HQ and then I had been taken off it because they thought I already knew how to use a computer. Mad. I'll have to do some research into this one.

Whoops, forgot Sleaford was in West Div now - didn't mean to purposely ignore your existence. You know someone said to me yesterday that I was down for an IT course at HQ and then I had been taken off it because they thought I already knew how to use a computer. I think it's just a 'turn up' situation. There was one on Tuesday, and one tomorrow for those that couldn't make the Tuesday one like me (who didn't get the email til Monday, giving me 1 day to convince work I need the night off). Not sure if it's a divisional thing or if it's solely for us Lincoln'ers, though. Have you heard anything from anyone in Sleaford yet about any of your divisional training?

While we are going off topic,
Jo have you been invited to any training evenings at South Div yet?

he must feel a bit victimised, first we leave him trapped in the canteen and now you leave him out of your e-mail, oh dear lol ....

At least he knows about it now - good job I texted him, he's already missed the station tour we had, if he'd missed this training he'd be in bad books before we'd even started lolhe must feel a bit victimised, first we leave him trapped in the canteen and now you leave him out of your e-mail, oh dear lol ....
I blame Richard.talk about letting the side down....

This training is an ongoing divisional thing, so you know, it's for all those within West Division, including Sleaford< Gainsborough, Market Rasen and Lincoln.
The training is basic ICT training, how to use the intranet, log on, routine orders, how to use NSPIS Command and Control (of which I won't talk about anymore!) and a few other basic things! It was quite a good night's training.
