It would take you abit to do mine seems that I have 3 pages worth of CV to read :prone:

You've done something wrong if, at your age, you have 3 pages to your CV.

3 pages sounds an awful lot for someone so young Romeo.

I don't think DangerMouse is saying this is a bad thing in itself, I'm certainly not. But if Daniel is so young, exactly what does a 3 page CV contain? At 45, mine barely stretches to two and to avoid that I have cut it to the one page by using a smaller type size. Admittedly it is packed, but it is comfortably packed. Importantly it's still easy to read and inviting and contains plenty of relevant information.

Further (to avoid lengthy CVs that for some jobs might contain irrelevant information), I have separate CVs - none tell lies or embellish the truth, but each is geared to a different aspect of the job I might apply for.

As we all accept, Daniel is a mature and responsible young man, and I happen to know that Connexions happen to offer a first-class service for young people. So hats off to him for getting a CV together. But at the same time, I think 3 pages excessive.

Remember employers are going to be going through loads of these each and every time and I doubt if they will bother with 3 pages worth (job dependent).

Funnily enough that's pretty much what my CV looks like, although Arial I find looks a bit cleaner.

Wow, you all think am a mature young man, well I know I have grown up since I started the forum. Evan Godfather said that to me a few weeks ago.

I do have my text size 14 and whatever the default text is for Word 2007, but it is well spaced out, i did make it smaller and more condence the other week but it was harder to read.

I would show you my cv, but i dont want anyone to copy it, what would be worst than 2 of me running about the place.

Daniel, I would suggest 14pt and spaced out is way too big. The key to a CV is for it to look neat, tidy and professional. If yours goes to 3 pages when one will do, I recommend you look again, I really would.

I put it down to 12 and asked my new tutor (who doesn't know me) said the size 14 looked better because it was better spaced out meaning it was easier to read.

With respect, your tutor is not a designer and I would imagine he is used only to seeing stuff done this way anyhow. You can decrease the point size and increase the leading separately: I still maintain that 14 point is waayyyyy too big.

IIRC 12pt is the national standard for examinations.

Its very professional IMO.
Im happy to show and share.
