The All Ports Warning is the British equivalent. It is a means of circulating a suspects description to airports, ports and international railway stations to detect an offender leaving the country. It has been of limited success due to the volume to people passing through these establishments versus the amount of law enforcement personnel working at them. If specific intelligence is available direct contact will be made with the relevant establishment and measures put in place. This is far more effective.

One would think...Is it something to do with broadcasting a suspects info to all methods of exit from a country to prevent him leaving?
And while we're at it, what's a Bolo? American cop shows always go on about 'putting out a bolo' on a person/ car etc. Yes, I know this isn't the oversees bit, but while we're here...

Ah yes, thanks... i just found this on Wikipedia. God, I love Wikipedia...An All Points Bulletin (APB) is a broadcast issued from one law enforcement agency to another. It typically contains information about a wanted suspect who is to be arrested or a person of interest for whom law enforcement officers are to look. As used by police, the term dates to at least 1960 [1]. An all-points bulletin can also be known as a BOLO, which stands for "be on the lookout". It is sometimes called a "lookout" or "BOL" for short.

That's exactly why I was asking, I run the law enforcement project there, where loads of police officers write articles on the law enforcement topics, lol :icon_rendeer:
