Did anyone see the North-East new's?

Durham police have admitted they are in debt, and as a consequence are putting a 2 year freez on hiring police officers, instead they are going to try get more Special Constables, and PCSO'S.

The news said they are doing policing on the cheep this way.

Any views?

Simon.

can i ask, what made you chose PCSO and not Special Constable?

i chose special because i am happy with my job, and i thought i would get a better insite into the police, do you want to be a reg in the police? as i do.

thanks simon

I chose to go the PCSO route because i need a complete change of career. I don't enjoy my work (i'm stuck in an office infront of a PC all day). I've done alot of volunteer work in and around where i live for years now and PCSO was suggested to me by a local community leader, so i thought "why not?"

As for going onto the regs, i've not given it any thought to be honest.
