I don't remember saying you were? I'm simply trying to divert the subject back to the original topic. I also do not want to turn this topic into a childish bicker. I've said my bit and am not going to add anything further to the topic of using your warrant card to obtain discounts.

You may want to check your local notices for sanctioned discounts then which involve ID'ing yourself.

The bottom line is, even with the Met benefit vouchers you can request, or any other 'Met approved discount' you would still need to present yourself (discretely) as a police officer in order to use them.

anyway! this is just for metbenefits site right? i dont understand, present yourself to whom? sorry the answers probably clear but i dont get it!

To the person/company you want to obtain the discount from I suppose. You'd probably have to read the small print on the rear of the voucher...

Ok now im confused. Ive been using my warrant card to obtain discount at Subways for ages now. It was even mentioned to me by a Training Instructor a long time ago that it is a sanctioned discount. If we are not allowed to present a warrant card to obtain the discount, how do we get it if there are no such vouchers for Subways?

I'm assuming that the voucher scheme is a seperate entity and that there are still some force sanctioned discounts that are obtained by showing your warrant card. There's a poster on the notice bored at my nick from Headmasters saying that police officers get 20 or 25% (can't remember which!) off on presenting their warrant card.

I remember being given a booklet of such vouchers when I was at recruit school in Hendon.

The other discount schemes offered by different companies are generally not advertised, although some do (we've got a Nando'a discount poster up in our nick ) and knowledge is often passed on by word of mouth...

Blacks/Millets/Freespirit all do police discount, you just show your warrant card.

One very easy way to discretely show your warrant card when paying for things is to keep the credit card or £20 note that you are intending to pay with in there. They soon notice.

Regatta Factory Outlet at the Galleria in Hatfield offer discounts too. One place that certainly does not, even if you are in uniform is Starbucks

Digging up an ancient thread here, but are we entitled to sign up for Met Benefits? and if so what do we enter in the 2 warrant number boxes, because I have tried various combinations and they come back as invalid.
