If you are the latter, then you should contact a solicitor. If you do ask for advice here then you are unlikely to receive much more than the same sort of comment in return. This isn't because the police officers here aren't willing to help, but more because the quality of advice given here will vary widely and there is no substitute for proper legal advice which is given when the provider (usually a solicitor) is in possession of all the facts relating to your case.
