Hi I have graced the streets of Annan for 18 years with my presence.

The full moon seems to affect some of the locals for the worse a bit of jekyl and hyde. know what i mean.
Given the size and population of Annan it has more than its fare share of problems.

.... tumbleweed blows across .....

Was it something I said?!!

I was searching for something else and I come across this site. WOW :blu:

We are not alone

18 years - my goodness - well done. That is true commitment.
I am hoping to join D&G regs - waiting for next date for interview. (Done SET).

.. and waiting

Might give recruitment a ring next week if I still haven't had a date, just dont want to pee them off by ringing all the time!!

Im a special in Humberside, but originally from the magnificent city of Stranraer
So although Im down in the land of Eng, I like to keep my ear to the ground.

Any news up there? What's 'big' on your agenda 'policing-wise', do you think you'll get community wardens or PCSO up there (or do you have them already)?

I hope you are successfull in you application to D&G

Dumfries has community wardens (walking in and around tesco  )
Nothing in Annan just your local hobby bobby and regs.

As for major changes & modernisation in Annan and Dumfries (please check dictionary for modernisation....... :D only joking......just dont disturb the cob webs)lol

Gretna's the happening place, if all goes well Gretna in the UEFA cup  yes the UEFA cup and Gretna..didn't see that one comming.

As for night life in the region........

How is life in Humberside?

Life in Humberside is busy as usual.

Think Ive got an unconfirmed date for my assessment (23rd May) - so now getting cracking with the old revision and also re-started the fitness regime with renewed enthusiasm!

P.S. Gretna!! - who'd have thought it ! !!

Night life in Hull is busy too - doing public order this Sunday - should be busy with it being bank holiday, good seeing other people getting ill and spending all their money while Im nice and cosy and comfy and not skint!

Hi. Have you got a confirmed date for your assessment? Hope you are still training hard.
I never asked before how long have you been a special in humberside.

If you are successful have you any preference where you would like to be posted.

Yes - got confirmed date (judgement day  ) - 23rd May. So Im trying to revise, after all the waiting I hardly have any time now! and still trying to get more hours fitness in too as I know the fitness test is not easy and if I pass on the 23rd, I will have the fitness to look forward to next!

So I will be up soon - quick visit to see my mum, then back to Dumfries for the 23rd. Im looking forward to it in a sick kind of way  Just hope I prepare for the type of things they are going to expect me to know.

I'm hoping to get posted towards the Eastern side of D&G, anywhere around Dumfries/Lockerbie/Thornhill/Gretna kind of way would be good - although I will go anywhere they want to put me to be honest! I will just be that relieved to land my dream job in the area I want to be in.

(I joined Humberside in August 2005, been operational since December - love it, but being a special is difficult re: giving up your spare time, but giving me a great insight into the job and builds confidence no end)

Hi. hope you had a good time while in Gretna.
Unfortunatley the drug problem in small towns like Gretna and surrounding towns is more obvious given the population size of these towns.

This I presume is consistant of all towns where the population is small.

Yeah. Just passing some info on thats all. Had a fantastic time in Gretna, and I thought the football team did really well. Hubby said that had they been playing the Saturday we were there, he would have gone to the match.

What a choice of games; Liverpool V Spurs or Gretna v Hearts.

It was brill and (wee bit of a pain) trying to watch 2 great games at the same time.

It was a good day - I think!? I will let you know any news when I get it.

But I felt good and did my best, it was nerve racking, but I guess these things are not meant to be easy! There was only 7 of us there and all seemed good people. They told us that there are not any actual 'physical' vacancies at present, however they are planning ahead for known future turnover, so if successful you will go into the recruitment 'pool' and wait your turn for a start date.

If I pass this though, there is still another interview to go through with senior management board.

(Thank you for asking!)

 Good news - passed the panel interview and passed the fitness test yesterday.

Deep heat helped me get through thr fitness test (did too much last week causing muscles to feel a bit tender). But it is amazing how much better you do in the fitness test for real than when pottering around trying to get fit!

Waiting for medical now, then it is just ref checks etc. Cant wait! But allbeing well I think it will be next year before I can start (fingers crossed for the rest of the process).

Well pleased !!!!!! :D :D :) :D :pc: :pc: :pc:
