i'm not on about just police related, though there could be some scope for that.
An example could be weekly or fortnightly topics that we try to capture in photo, then upload them and discuss/explain. We could have competitions as well. we'd have to keep the file size down, or maybe use some free image hosting thingy like imageshack or create an MSN group.
If anyone is interested, remember you don't have to be professional photographer or have expensive kit, a standard point and shoot camera would be ok.
Anyone who is up for it, lets get it started on here, i'll set up the MSN group in anticipation.

There's no doubt digital is fun and exciting and instant, but I dunno, somehow there was something to be said for using dials and controls, even if you didn't know the shot was going to be any good until you had it developed. But when you did have a good shot and you projected it (yes, projected!) it was stunning. I switched between slides and prints over the years.

I bought a d50 a couple of weeks ago and just haven't had the time (or weather) to get out and really use it.
A ps.com photography club may aid my motivation!!

NO!
I like taking pictures of landscapes or catching people when they at least expected to be snapped.Spur of the moment thing.
Trying to capture splitseconds of a moment, a atmosphere...
The club sounds a good idea.....but haven't got the equipment to match you technical lot.

I have an Olympus OM2 SP (spot/program) with a 300mm telephoto and 70-230mm zoom and all the bits.
I ought to do far more photography than I do, I have no excuse not to really.

Obviously you do camera self-portraits using a very cunning arrangement of mirrors.Oh, proper photography! But tell me, how did you take a picture of the camera?

I've a friend who is in our local camera club. He said that someone chooses a topic each month and they all have a month to take as many photos as they like on the subject, choose their best and submit it to a judge who picks the winner. Maybe something similar here would be good.
