HI,
this is something that has been tried many times in the past in various areas, York has an established bike team which works to great effect up and down the many alleys and narrow lanes of central york, some of the PCSO`S use bikes to get around Northallerton, ask your section officer about using bikes when you get settled in.

good luck

Bit of a "bump" for this topic... has anyone known of any North Yorks Sepcials being allowed to go on the bike course and use bikes?

This issue was raised at a meeting the other week and well the answer wasn't very positive, from what I can gather, we have been trying for a while to get approval for bikes and it does not look like we'll be able to get it at present, but who knows what will happen in the future. Fingers crossed.

If it has anything to do with "Specials", "Course" and "Development" in it, then the answer is generally a great big laugh.

And then a no.

Been a couple of years go by, and getting on a bike is still something that'd prove extremely useful in my area and would increase a number of my specials morale and duty hours I'm sure! Anyone had any other news on this?

Al
