hi being quite a newby an all will some one please explain to me what a intoximeter is and how it works?? completely baffled!!!
when you bring someon in for DIC you then have to complete form MGDDA then out them on an Intoximeter.
They provide 2 deep lung breath samples, the lower of which are used, the machinne gives you a printout with the date, time, location, machine operator and subject details and teh results for the samples.
It shouldnt be a problem getting training in Northants or cost the force anything as I beleive the Commandant is an Instructor, at least he was when I was in. I was the first special to become an operator which upset him a bit.

AO CAPEWELL on western area is an intoximeter instructor but from memory the commandant is not an instructor.
I would love to be intoxemeter trained it would make it so much easier if we all could do this rather than having to wait for a trained officer to become available.

The commandant volunteered himself for the course when I was still in Northants, I know he used to train people when I was there.
Don't you have to do a refresher to be a trainer? Maybe he has let it lapse now. My AO was talking about getting a training session set up dont know if he is still trying though.
