Hello Derbyshire Specials,

We are in the process of getting Micro Beats up and running at Bolsover, anyone currently involved in these wanna share any top tips or experiences?

I interested in the links with beat managers and how to build them up?

Hi Stewart,

They are basically working an area as a beat officer, but in the capacity of a Special our time is limited so they are being called micro beats. I believe that C division are the guinea pigs for this.

Cheers
Shaun

Hi,
As a new member to C Division can you advise where these micro beats are likely to be and what we are likely to encounter.

Effectively Micro-beats are a way of giving Specials more purpose within the operations of the sections. At present (within C Div at least) SC's turn up without any particular purpose. This way an SC can team up with a beat manager and go work a particular area, learn who the local knowns are, gather intel and give local residents that cosy feeling that there is still such a thing as a bobby on the beat.

This re-organisation is only just in the preliminary stages and beats only just being formalised by the section inspector - so there's very little knowledge to impart as yet.

Watch this space
