Thames Valley Police Special Constabulary Training Includes:

- An induction weekend at the force training centre in Sulhamstead, near Reading (residential)

- Five weekend training sessions (residential) over a thirteen week period

- Two weekend officer safety training sessions held at the forces public order department at Upper Heyford. Non residential.

- One day first aid training (Location TBC)

On successful completion of the training course, arrangements will be made for you to be attested before a Justice of the Peace, when you will be formally appointed as a Special Constable with Thames Valley Police.

This is usually part of a ceremony with your whole intake at the end of the final weekend, with friends and family members invited come along (though usually limited numbers).

Following attestation, and along with your ordinary duties, you will be required to attend further training courses held at the force training centre and on your police area.

Further information on training will be sent to you as and when you are accepted into the TVP Special Constabulary.

Ladies & Gents,

Adamski has kindly offered to write his own insight into the training for Specials.

This can be found here!
