Two Jags...

The north West vote was scrapped eatlier in the year from lack of interest. Why does this tired old has been politician seem hell bent on leaving some sort of lasting legacy which ain't required (Remeber this was the politician that had to have a super sized Juggernaunt mismash government department, and now nvainly has the odiously titled ODPM)
Even Londoners are regretting having to pay for the London assembly and Mayor Ken (what a waste of money!) * source Jeremy Vine on Radio 2
And Two Jags brilliant other plans?
1. To cover the countryside on either side of the M62 from Liverpool to Hull in massive housing estates.
2. To build a massive housing development on any unbuilt bit of land (including ANOB/Green Belt) between High Wycombe and Hitchin in Hertfordshire (why stop there John why not Cambridge?) without thought or consequence for Environmental damage. The developers love Two Jags, after all they can build loads of "Executive type" houses for the price of a couple of rabbit hutch sized starter homes.
The transport infrastructure of the South East and Manchester will not support these plans something will give (Ever seen the 8.00 Hitchin to to Kings Cross train - seriously scary!)
Who are these houses for anyway? Ah New Labour is looking to the future, a future full of votes for them from grateful bogus ayslum seekers.

Panda.. I agree with the transport stuff. Our transport infrastructure is woeful. Whilst I hate the idea of a London Assembly... Ken is alright in some respects. Some of his ideas for the tube being open later... the congestion charge have been ground breaking.
A labour conspiracy to get immigrants into Britian for votes? I'd prefer to think about the skills shortage.. pension gap, shrinking population, rising house prices, high cost of labour and other sensible ideas.
Economies NEED immigrants.. its a fact.

e.g. Train fare from Durham to London Kings-Cross, return: least I can find it for is about £96 per person; goes up to something like £270 per person !! Who is going to pay that sort of money ? Petrol cost would be something like £50.

Now then Now then (said Jimmy Saville stylee!) Bert, there is nothing wrong with legal migrants in fact its something I fully support but bogus asylum seekers won't help the skills shortage, only add the the pensions woe or any sensible ideas which I believe are out o fthe grasp of the New Labour Focus groups.
