Lokk like no Fife Specials/regs are about.

Anyway I will ask.

After getting through the selection, what does the training consist of before goining onto the Streets?

3 weekends and two evenings of training inc. basic overview of powers, common situations you will come across (Breaches etc), statements, radio, SPELS (basic first aid). Last 3 days are safety training - 1 day baton, 1 day cuffs, 1 day CS.
Pretty crammed sessions lasting 09:00 - 17:00 weekends and 17:00 - 21:00 evenings.

Swearing in was good as it is done alongside regulars joining and Chief Constable and all Divisional Commanders come along for a wee buffet, and you can bring the family along too.

Biggest delay after training is waiting for your stab vest. I was lucky as I know a man who knows a man etc so I've got mine but the others that went through with me in October and were sworn in a start of November are likely to have to wait until January ! so they are well p***ed off. I'm not rubbing it in honest having already done 40 hours and a few collars to my name.

You get tagged to the Community Team at your chosen station which is OK but if you want to tick the probationers 'done that' boxes to get confirmed you will have to go out with the teams in the pandas - much more interesting.

I'm originally from Fife (Glenrothes), one day I'll move back. Been in London for over 7 years now... even considered moving back to do police full-time. Maybe when my current career loses interest or goes belly up Fife Constabulary will be my future!
