Out of sheer curiosity, along with the wish to weigh up my chances on this one, I was wondering if anybody knew how many regulars Cambridgeshire are recruiting in the July intake?

As far as I'm aware they have two groups planned, one to sit the AC in August and the other to sit the AC in November?

I read a figure in the polfed magazine but can't for the life of me remember the numbers!

Thanks guys

Hi,

Somebody told me today it was about 13,000 - although I have nothing at all to verify if he had a clue what he was talking about!!

LMFAO

13,000?

No. Not quite. I would say it was about 15-25 officers. As of January this year there were around 136,000 officers in the UK as a whole.

I believe we were told around 30? and 80 would be invited to Ryton, however that could just be hearsay from recruitment.

Thanks for your replies guys
30 did ring a bell actually - i did keep looking and found this in the Cambs PA June 2012 release:

"In terms of Police Officers, it should also be noted that the Force has been below establishment for much of the year. This position has been addressed by the recruitment of 29 probationers in November and a further intake of 18 at the end of the March. Because recruitment has been skewed towards the end."

Not sure if this is referring to a past recruitment or if they're expecting initial training for the AC in August to begin in November... Still, 29 places with 80 going to Ryton aren't bad odds at all in the current climate. And so my Ryton preparation begins!

Those odds sound a little worse than when I went through. It was, IIRC, 45 to Ryton for 35 spaces.

To be fair 50% isnt difficult to achieve at assessment centre - I have found within most forces (I can only speak for Suffolk, as this is the main knowledge I have) ...Its the final interview that catches most people out.

I'd totally agree with that. The final interview has caught a lot of people out, myself included.

Is it 50% required at Ryton?
Apparently the interview is with two supers... Scary!

80 to Ryton? That's not bad for 30 places. I'm pretty chuffed at reaching this stage then. Would be nice to keep going of course! Best of luck to all those still in it!

What day are you guys at Ryton? I'm there next Thursday, have booked myself a premier inn, so will hopefully get a good nights kip!

I'm there on Thursday at some hideously early time in the morning! Staying at a travel lodge though! You at Ryton in the AM?

If Lenny Henry says you get a good sleep, I'm sure you will!

Not bad at all really. I'm not sure where I heard it, but I heard those successful in this round will start training in November? May be completely wrong but I'm sure I read that somewhere...

Best of luck to everyone :)

I have a feeling that rather than accepting everyone over 50%, they work relatively and have an allotted number of passes so the bar is set based on relative marks between candidates. So needless to say the pressure is on to push up well above 50%

The guy at my PIRT said something about a November intake but that it was pretty full already. Most of the succesful applicants from this round will start in March? I think that's what was said, but please don't quote me on this!

Had the NPIA today. Wasn't so bad, very difficult to judge how well you did I think. Don't think I've let myself down in any way so just got to sit tight on results now. Good luck all those to go.

Still heard nothing back. But when logging into my Cambs account my application status has changed. Used to say "congratulations you were successful at assessment centre, we will be in touch shortly." As of last night, it now says "Your application has been successful, you will be invited to assessment." Of course, the stages are mixed up.....but I don't know if this is good news or not!

On the bright side, my Operation Insight application got approved today. Got a Saturday evening shift so proper excited about that.

Fingers crossed for everyone on the Regs Recruitment at the moment. I am just about to start my Specials training with Cambs and thought I'd wish everyone good luck.

'Alexd' who are you going out with for your Op Insight Shift. I did two, one with RPU and one with Response and both were awesome. You'll love it!

Not sure, I ticked traffic, response and general policing on the application. But I won't really mind. Has anyone heard anything about assessment centre results yet?

I have heard back today and have been invited to force interview next week, really please as it seems the prospective intake is in November rather than next year. I didn't however get my scores? Did anyone else?

Hi,

Congratulations! I'm the same - got my interview on Tuesday afternoon, they've said if I can get my medical forms done in time then bring them and they'll do the medical and fitness at the same time "Assuming I pass the interview" - so should find out on the day! I asked for my score, I got 69% which I was pretty pleased with, Looking to get in on the November intake too.

Good luck - let us know how you get on :)

The same result as you two guys. Back to HQ next week for the final interview and testing etc. November intake. Scary stuff! But very proud. Must remember to ask for my score at Ryton though. Very interested to know how I did.
