I was in Oxford Street in central London yesterday when I saw five of your officers on foot patrol (not all together obviously!). I'm assuming they are on aid for the big sports event. :prone:

funny you should mention Humberside, I think I saw a few of their carriers driving through Hammersmith, keep seeing all these weird and wonderful carriers/serials from different forces driving along the A4 in little convoys :)

During and after the riots we had Cheshire Police patrolling my road for about a month (I live on a High Street in a London borough that fortunately didn't fall victim to rioting). It's quite peculiar to see officers patrolling so far off their patch. I've been on aid to other forces a few times but never as far as Humberside or Cheshire!

For a month? Had no idea other forces had hung around that long

Furthest I've seen so far were 3 Grampian Police serials driving (lost by the look of it) around Hammersmith a week or two ago, don't think they'd seen a One-Way system before!

I took a phone call from a bus load of off duty Strathclyde officers the other day who were also in west London. I'm assuming they were here for work reasons, although it could have been social I suppose - they simply said they were off duty.

Yeah a month seemed very excessive, but it was reassuring knowing that they were always outside.

Actually now I think about it the furthest I have been is Luton which was a few years ago now for an EDL protest.

Was that the one with the EDL. Muslim Defence League and the Anti-Fascist lot when they decided to demonstrate in Luton on the same day?

Here we are by @SELondoner:

"What's going on, cheery bobbies on the beat in east london?! Ah, they're from Humberisde Police!"

Made me smile! :)

I was in London today for the Paralympic games and I saw two Humberside officers on horseback in the Olympic Village.

Apparently all the outside forces are being given day to day IR jobs and the Met have been focusing on the Games...
