Two police officers have been arrested following an investigation into alleged corruption in County Tyrone.

Five other PSNI officers from the same team in Cookstown have been moved to other duties.

A full investigation by the Police Service of Northern Ireland's internal anti-corruption unit is under way.

The two officers have been released on bail and are currently suspended from duty.

Assistant Chief Constable George Hamilton said the police service expected staff to behave professionally, ethically and with the utmost integrity.

"Any conduct, whether on or off duty, which brings or is likely to bring discredit on the Police Service will be investigated in order to establish whether or not a breach of the Code of Ethics has occurred."
