A police officer has been charged in connection with an incident in which a seven-year-old girl was hit by a car.
Gary Johnston, a serving officer with Tayside Police, is accused of driving a Ford Focus police car dangerously while on duty on 13 November last year.
It is alleged that he caused the car to collide with a man and his young daughter on Douglas Road in Dundee.
At a hearing at the city's Sheriff Court the case was continued until next month.
Mr Johnston, 27, did not appear in court.
Defence solicitor George Donnelly said: "I appear for Mr Johnston and I would be obliged if the case could be continued without plea for three or four weeks.
"I have further investigations to make into the case."
Fiscal depute Gillian Sim said: "There is no objection from the Crown."
Prosecutors said the crash caused the man and girl serious injury.
Sheriff Jamie Gilchrist continued the case until mid August.
