If you want to join the team, please say so in a post below and I'll pm you when it gets closer

Hi guys made this topic for anyone who is interested in teaming up for the tough mudder event, The more people that do it the better, Teamwork work will get you through this. And it would be a good social gathering too, Leave a message if your interested in teaming up for the event on November 18. I am going to do this for the Blue lamp foundation (Look at the bottom for info on it) and hope you can too.

What is Tough mudder

With the most innovative courses and half a million inspiring participants, Tough Mudder is the premier adventure challenge series in the world. ( Source: http://toughmudder.co.uk/) Oh also at the end of the finish line you get a pint of bear handed to you a free t shirt and head band, and a music festival for you as well

Ooo I'm doing this as part of a team of officers from my force.

Should be fun (would be better without the November temperatures though I think).

Judge Dread: Did you cough up for the tattoo at the end??

Thanks for the advice.

Most people I speak to seem interested in taking part until I show them the bit where they have to run through a forest of dangling live electrical cables, or crawl under barbed wire, or jump into an icy lake.

Why am I doing this again? :new_hmmm:

No probs.

The electric cables: completely psychsomatic (all in the mind) the shocks don't hurt.

Arctic enema: get through fast!! The wetsuit helps.

The things that got me were; Berlin walls (12foot high walls) getting over these can cause a few falls and scrapes.

And the COLD. By the last miles you're freezing and constantly in and out of cold water. We had to queue for some of the last obstacles for ~30 minutes. We all got hypothermia and nearly had to pack it in.

As for training, running stamina is not as important as strength and conditioning. My training split was 10% running 90% high intensity cardio and bodyweight strength. The rest is all in the mind, never stop going forwards.

I have to train for running I can only run 3 miles and a half need to at least get to 6 miles so i can get past the halfway point
