Hi All

i am attending the induction to kick start my training on the 4th August. Is anyone else attending? I would like to know someone if not most people before i attend to help with my nerves and i am sure it will help with others just to get to know each other.

Induction weekend is the most boring weekend of the training, but it settles you in with your group.

The induction can easily be done in one day but they spread it around 2 days, take money for the vending machine, it was 60p for a coffee when I was there, also there is a vending machine for snacks but the canteen will not be staffed.

The chairs are really uncomfy you will go numb very quickly lol.

Remember you are been assessed on training from Day 1 so don't make any comments you cannot support or justify. Safe learning environment until you make an out of turn comment which happened to a lad on our intake.

Don't worry about uniform cos you won't be in it until the Tuesday session just go smart casual both days.

As for role plays don't worry about it first one is just you in front of your group with your trainer giving you tasks to do, such as using search powers under PACE 1 and it goes really quick and gives you confidence, you will be working in twos as well, relax again and use your knowledge and use your partners knowledge and it will be fine.

Cannot think of anything else sure Prae will be able to give his input will just say relax and enjoy it.

He was challenged in class to justify his comments which he couldn't and then after I left he had his mentor meeting, as far as I know he was asked to leave the course.

Just be yourself and dont pay too much attention to horror stories. Each individual makes their own destiny.

You will know what the force expects of you after the induction weekend and I'm sure you're more than capable of meeting their standards of acceptable conduct.

:aok:

Changing the subject to what could possibly get us kicked out the training course, Do the weekday training sessions finish on time at 9pm? As much as i will enjoy the training, i have work in Scarborough at 11pm every night unfortunately for me haha

You'll be gone by 20:30 most nights, I think we ran over past 21:00 twice. Once was for the DV input and once was the final exam night because we were having an impromptu buffet in the canteen! :aok:

Think it may depend on who your trainers are, we got out before 9pm TWICE one was the lesson showing us the IT system and the other was our DV lesson!, other then that it was usually 9pm or just after.

So it really depends on who your trainer is.

Hi,

Enjoy your training course! It will fly by, mine sure did! If you have DD and KL it'll be great as they are both spot on! All the trainers who help are also brilliant!

Just be yourselves and enjoy! I've just finished my PDU phase and I'm going to my NPT week after next. Good luck!

, thanks dean,, did you pick NPT or do you just get it given,

I had reason to believe you could pick PUBLIC ORDER, NPT but cannot do both is this true,

I like to do NPT AND PO mixed ?

How's the training so far

If you're going to D-Div you'll do three phases of training once you attest. You'll start off on PDU for ten weeks, NPT for ten weeks and then Public order for around ten weeks. You can't do PDU, NPT Public Order whilst you're taking part on each phase. After all the phases you have to choose either Public order or NPT.

Some of the others on my intake chose their NPT but I sort of got put on mine, I'm going to Northern which is Orchard Park.
