A light hearted discussion on this subject!

Does an older single man that appears to have a nice car or have money appeal to you? I'm sure it does appeal to some women just like it would men but just how much more likely are you to find love?

I will hopefully be able to give some of my own scientific results if this happens - My father 64 years young (yeah right) has been separated from my mother since I turned 18 pretty much so its 6 going on 7 years.

Since then he has really struck out with the ladies not much action and has lived quite a frugal life style (complaining he has to "save every penny that wench took off me" I have kindly used wench as its a much nicer word than he used to describe my mother.

Now nearly 7 years later he has gone out and finalised today his payment on a Brand new BMW Z4. Absolutely beautiful looking car and about £40k to boot so what do we reckon could this be the start of some nookie?

I can only hope it does improve his life style. My belief is that having a nice car will improve his outlook & confidence which in turn should result in a nice woman on his arm.

As long as she isn't my age!

Judging from my experiences where I work (place full of rich guys and many of their trophy wives) I'd say yes.

I also have a mate who had a 'normal' love life for years.... then bought a Porsche, despite nothing else changing his ability to get numbers/strike up conversations increased. It increased further when he got a Maserati.

The caveat to the 'yes' is that it'll be a certain type of women.

Ha I was trying to convince him on a 2nd hand Maserati but hey for some reason he wanted to give the Gvt 20% of the sale value!

I'm not sure how many "women" we even have in Thanet.

Also hilarious how every guy is a yes. Awaits the women to arrive...

Probably compensating for the fact he hasn't had s#x with anyone other than himself in nearly 7 years?

Well... Mr. GP doesn't have any interest in my fast car (to be), in fact he doesn't know the difference between a battery and a fuse box on a car.

In the guys I have seen, none are interested in fast cars....

You could always get a Ferrari and see what happens!

To quote Peep Show - "money can't buy you love but it can certainly get you a pretty decent simulation" ;)

Can hairdressers afford an Audi TT? I thought it was an MX5 or VW Beetle.

Snap - 1.0l Vx Corsa to 3.2l Jag XJ6. People I've known for years who know I'm coming round to theirs dont realise its me until I step out.

I'm pretty sure they get a special discount for Audi TT's. My friend once bought one I eagerly responded with the hairdresser joke he gave me a blank look. Getting into petrol head mode I quickly asked him what engine it had and what TT it was, S-line etc, expecting something impressive. He responded -

Its blue? Sigh.... he isnt even a hairdresser.
