Has anyone got the new black tshirts yet - the ones with epaulettes? I know supervisors are getting them as they were the first to complain about the old ones as no-one knew their rank.

(Sorry, I can't spell)

Only seen 1 or 2 PC's with them so far... Am guessing that they are getting given as replacements rather than a direct swap. I know that one of the PC's who has one had to get a new set of kit issued after his was contaminated with blood during a shift...

I heard that a load of Inspectors complained about the old ones as anyone unknown was referred to as 'mate' due to there not being any obvious rank markings.

Are the job provided new epaulettes to go on the t-shirts?

I think it depends what sizes are in stock with the Astley House. On my current Specials course at least half of the team have been issued the new style and the rest the old style.

Personally, I actually prefer the old tshirts without epaulettes as the new ones just don't look right. But.... I can understand the reasons for having them:)

I just got my tops replaced last month, the long sleeve version of the new tops are more comfortable than the short sleeve lycra-eque tops.

Are these new tops made by the same manufacturer as the old ones, Cooneen Watts and Stone? I so, wonder if they have changed the material to proper Coolmax.
