Hey all!

Just wondering if there's anyone else on here that's got an interview date.

So excited as I had a call today informing me I've passed the PIRT and have my interview this Friday!

So excited but so nervous at the same time!!!

Congratulations!!!

Yes I had my letter today to. It said my score was 107??? I have been trying to figure out what percentage that is, I have no idea!

I called recruitment this morning to ask if they could offer any advice in terms of preparation. They said that's all they could advise is to read through my application. Read each of the questions I answered. Also, the interview will be 30 minutes long. Based on that I'm assuming maybe we will be asked about the competencies on our application.

Excited but just so nervous!!

Well good luck on Friday!!!!

Did the letter give any other details? My girlfriend has an interview tomorrow and has still not received a letter. Weren't there only three competencies in the application, what do you think the other questions will be on?

The letter only confirmed date/time/venue etc, nothing regarding the actual interview.

I'm just preparing (trying lol) myself for all seven competencies but yes, the application only covered 3

Good luck to your girlfriend for tomorrow!

Well done all. I'm not sure how they worked the scoring out.

Does anyone know if we will be required a fitness test after passing interview or is that not required as a pcso. I heard south Wales don't require it but I'm not sure. What will be next after interwiews any ideas?

Yeh you will have to do a fitness test. Its Warm up to level 3 bleep test. Then they restart it and go to level 5.4 which is 37 shuttles or 795m.

Then you go on the pull/push machine got to get 35/34kg average

Completed one two weeks ago with some PCSO's in SWP

Thanks.

Didn't know SW were recruiting internally for pc's. Only pcso internally about 60 of them before opening it to external applicants.
Do you know at what stage vetting checks are conducted?

Yeh they started pc recruitment last year ans it takes a while.
The vetting is continuous and starts after your successful at interview as it can take a few weeks.
The seven competencies are resilience, community and customer focus, team working , problem solving, effective communication, respect for r&d and personal responsibility.
Hope that clears things a little

I don't believe there is a welsh language test for south Wales.

Just to clarify I believe only the 7 core competences mentioned above are for police officer role and not all of them are required for the role of pcso.

Thanks for the reply.i think the competencies are general so apply for any role in the police force. However their website suggest that you remember your answers from your application, which would suggest that those particular 3 off the application will come up in the interview.

As far as I'm aware/have been told it should be loosely based on our application answers. There might be some other questions though. I guess they want to check your oral skills under pressure if it is just going over the app questions.

PIRT was definitely not a percentage, I'm not sure what it was out of but I got 118 :)

Can people not tell anyone else in the public domain what the interview consists of. It is a bit unfair on the people who have worked hard on their own preparation/research for interview, only for someones else to give other people an easier ride and possibly an unfair advantage.

Cheers

I don't know about everyone else but the interviewers were really personable, came across as very likely and did their best to make me feel at home...in a bedroom in a hotel haha :)

Good luck all :)
