its been 10 weeks since I applied some people said they got their day one dates within 2 weeks. Just wondering if anyone applied around the same time and ain't heard anything as well.

I applied to be a special constable with met in march and it's now June and I still haven't heard anything back from them its been 10 weeks since I applied some people said they got their day one dates within 2 weeks.
Just wondering if anyone applied around the same time and ain't heard anything as well.

Hi, I applied the 20th April. Haven't heard anything via email,post etc but I did call HR who suggested I may hear something within the next couple of weeks.
Understandably they're no doubt inundated with applications as well as having to deal with whatever challenges the Olympics may be bringing their way!
I'm pretty patient so adopt the attitude of when it happens, it happens.
Good luck regardless.

Thanks mate, i applied in the 28th of march, I emailed HR they said they should now be sending out invitations to those who passed the paper sift.

I know it can be frustrating to hear back when you want to get going and get through the system but consider the wait part and parcel of the whole recruitment drive - a character assessment if you will. Hopefully the time will come when we're out on duty and called to deal with irate; irrational and obnoxious individuals which i'm sure is all too often and patience will be the deciding factor towards a amicable end result.
Keep us (me) up to date how you get on, though we applied on different dates we may well end up having our day 1 on the same date etc.

I called up HR today they said i passed the first stage of the paper sift. And that i should be getting a day one date soon hopefully i think you should call them and ask them.

Well I applied in January and only got my Day 1 date 2 weeks ago, so it is a long process. (Don't forget there's some sort of sports "thing" going on in London soon).
If you don't get your date soon, phone them again

Got an email today, thought they didn't work on a Saturday o.O Anyways they said i needed to send them a piece of document so i know they're in the second stage of the Paper sift. so should be okay by next week i guess
