Hey guys I am hoping to become a special for the autumn intake. I didn't have to sit the upcoming assessment days because i applied for the regulars but failed on the interview but my interviewing officer put down on my file that he was recommending me for the specials so not all bad.

I have just had my medical, (still waiting on the drugs results) but i know the result of that lol but whats next? i assume vetting. and also when does training begin for the autumn intakes?

I'm not asking you guys to predict the future Just what happened with you guys after the medical??

also my immediate family is all nice and lovely law abiding citizens. buuuuuut my uncle wasn't back in the day and i was wandering could they hold his actions against me??? (hardly see him, never socialise with him. not even at xmas lol)

PLZ let me know guys hate being in the dark

Hi,

I've had my medical three weeks ago now!
Haven’t heard anything about that yet, just been told that my references have come through and are ok, and meanwhile my vetting is being carried out (handed in the vetting forms early May, some say.. no news is good news, but I am not too sure about that)
In the application you were asked about your immediate family, although I can imagine most of your family members will be looked into, don’t know if they'll go as far as your uncle (however remember on the vetting form it said 'do you know anyone who has committed any criminal offences' or something like that, that would have been the perfect place to mention your uncle I suppose, although I am no expert. Not sure when your training will start, I know for West Yorkshire it starts in October.

Yeah, i passed my medical phoned for an update on that. i got told that they were now carrying out the vetting and reference checks soon. He did also say that there might not be enough people to make a course viable though .

i did disclose my uncle on the application because as far as i know he is the only family member i know that has been in prison lol unless its my immediate family i am not very close to them lol.

Im hoping our course starts late august or early september but that is looking less realistic now so kinda thinking october aswell

Hey Stephen. I myself am in a sort of similar situation except I passed the assessment day, was told well done, you've been accepted we will contact you shortly...that was 1 month ago.? Roughly how long am I looking to wait because I was told I'm on the Autumn intake too.
