I have a friends in Warwickshire and they use a similar system and it seem ALOT easier than what we are currently using here.

The system locally i think works for us although im sure it could be fine tuned as could many things for the broader number of officers on the OCU. But i know exactly what our team are working and when for the remainder of the year bar anything extra that comes in at short notice. And there are slight changes inbound i believe to smarten up some bits and bobs.

it also allows you to track your duty times and what you do on duty I believe, it would have to be a force-wide thing not just a local LPU system.
I reckon a lot of officers on our LPU don't know what events are going dew to the lack of communication we seem to have with anyone arranging these events.

that system allows officers/teams to place events and duties they would like SC to take part in etc

I think the primary reason old boy is that at the planning level we arent considered until short notice, its just the way it runs i dont know that this would change that at all even with the system. It has generally been the case that we know what sort of things happen annually that we are required to police and we discuss those types of events and plan accordingly on the basis that we will be working it.

Just seeing where we can improve the service we receive and thus give to the force :-)

It won't be this year, or probably next...
there will be no money spent on trialling/using other systems at the moment...
things can change as always...?

Several forces use it. Licences aren't expensive in my experience with IT systems. GRS is the way forward for west-mids, money to burn developing it I guess
