Right I’m applying for the first time to be a Special constable :new_yummy: . Nearly finished my application form giving it the final tweaks while proof reading.
Any advice before i send it off? Anything i may have forgotten? before i get a :new_doh2: moment.

Many thanks in advance.

Make sure all the spelling and grammar is correct, any included guidance notes have been followed correctly and that you've declared everything you've needed to such as any criminal convictions. If you have any tattoos, make sure you enclose pictures regardless of where they are :p Other than that I can't think of much apart from good luck when you've sent it off to your chosen force :)

Have you got a copy of the competencies they're looking to be demonstrated and those they don't want demonstrated and then compared your application to it to make sure you tick enough boxes?

Take a photocopy of it. When you get to the interview stage, you'll want to remember exactly what you wrote.

Remember to check your spelling and grammar. I applied to be a PC not too long ago, passed the competency based assessment however I failed on the spelling and grammar. I have been told to appeal by some, but then informed by the seniors no appeals will be successful on the basis of Spelling and Grammar. Ho hum...

This is covered really in the spelling and grammar points made by everyone else, but in case you don't do it usually (I don't) remember to dot your 'i's. It looks neater and more presentable.
Make sure your comptencies are relevant to each particular quality, some may apply to two in some of your examples depending on what they are. Try and structure your answers, the STAR model worked for me - Situation, Task, Action, Result. It stops you waffling and wasting precious space. Be clear and concise. Remember to photocopy it, not only for reference at your interview, but should you be unsuccessful you'll be able to look back and maybe identify why and be able to avoid doing it again.

Good luck!
Good luck :)
