Me: AB AB from AB32
AB: AB32 go ahead.
Me: Yeah cheers AB can you show me one pic for xyz?
AB: Confirm show you one pic for xyz
Me: yes yes.
AB: Okay will do.
Me: Many thanks for your assistance.
If it isnt terribly busy and I've just had a name check etc I'll end with 'Many thanks, have a nice day'
I like to be polite - All you BTP radio operators are probably cursing me

We've had a number of embarrasing broadcasts with P2P's where one end has cancelled the call. It really should have a vocal alarm when the call drops off....
Our MT800s do have a tone for alerting as to when a Private Mode call has ended and you drop back into Group Mode just in time to broadcast your refs order to whomever is to picking up grub. It's one of the things I teach recruits to listen out for and cover it during the training.

Midnight good sir... but my military training states there is "no such thing as midnight" so that's a bit of a conundrum
I've got an idea for another one, I'll put it up as soon as I'm done

Any idea is that feature exists on the MTP850? Will have to listen out for it if so.

On the MTH800 it's a single short duration low tone, shared with the warning tones for bad key press, or new mail. I would expect the MTP850 to have the same tones arrangement. Check settings > tones to make sure tones are enabled. There is a 'bug' feature with some of the the MTH800 that can disable the tones if the rotary is pressed at the same time an incoming private mode call is calling. The menu will show tones are set to on, but they are actually off and you need to turn them off then on again and sometimes reboot the handset to restore them.

"Yeah, Mohammed, usual spelling" and then proceed to spell out the forename which had much less possible variations...

Childish but funny... it's a right of passage with my students when tutoring them.
